It has lots of different room pages to color. I like to color them with Copic Sketch markers, but they're suitable for colored pencils and water-based markers. I really like they are all black on the back of each coloring page so the markers don't show up on the back. And as described, it brings two coloring pages of each image. It's nice to be able to use different colors or mediums on each of the two. They also have a free downloadable PDF file (includes all the drawings) that they send you after you email them with the access code.

Interior Designs is a great adult coloring book. This has become one of my favorite books. I liked it so much, I ordered one for a friend also.I love the way the author pages are, black on the other side. I use sharpies and markers so the black on the back side helps a great deal.there are also duplicate copies of each page in the book. You can do the same book with different colors or you can share the pages.I look forward to purchasing more from this author. A big thank you to the author for making my coloring world HAPPY.

 The designs in this book are of interior designs of rooms. They are not a montage of design elements but instead show you the full look of the room. While they are interior designs, they are more than that. The designs are inside settings that appear to be a lived in and functional room within a house. I have other interior design books which focus on the elements of design. This book shows the function of the room. The designs show a good range of traditional, contemporary and modern rooms. The rooms are from all areas of the house: living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms, kitchens and many other specialized areas (playroom, study, etc.)The designs are very detailed and some contained intricate and small areas to color. I suggest using color medium with a very small point for these elements. I don't think that crayons can be sharpened to as fine a point as needed. I like ultra-fine points.While you can have access to .PDFs when you purchase this book, my review is based on the book as it is received from Amazon. That way you will know what the pages look like and how they accept color. I like that the publisher provides the digital version as well so you can choose the paper you wish to use and/or to color the pictures as many times as you choose.This is what I found while coloring in this book and testing the paper with my coloring medium:25 Designs x 2 each (total of 50 pages) based on full room interior designsPaper is typical of CreateSpace: white, thin, slightly rough and non-perforated. The back of the page is printed black.The designs do not merge into the binding. There is a heavy framing line at the outer edges of the design to give the project a more finished look, especially for framing. There is a slight shadowing effect to the framing line which gives the image an almost 3D effect.Glue Binding (there is room to cut the pages out if you choose to do so.)Though you cannot see the bleed-through easily due to the back of the page being printed in black, I recommend the use of a blotter page when working in this book. I use a page of card stock or several sheets of heavyweight paper under my working page. It keeps seeping ink and marring dents from ruining the pages below.Alcohol-based markers bleed through the page quickly.Water-based markers bleed through in spots.Gel pens and India ink pens leave shadows on back of the page. India ink can bleed through if you apply heavily or multiple coats.Coloring Pencils work well with this paper. I found that I could layers the same color for deeper pigment or multiple colors and I could blend easily using a blending stick. I tested both oil and wax based pencils. I also found that hard lead pencils leave dents through the paper.

Great designs, but terrible quality of paper. Each picture looks like it has been photocopied onto a low grade paper. I'm using Prismacolor pencils and everything looks gritty. Would have been a great book if they had just chosen a better quality of paper.

First, a small nitpick: a lot of reviewers have complained about the duplicate images, but the item description clearly states that each image is printed twice, so I dont know why people are surprised by that. This book contains 25 unique images, each printed twice. (For comparison, a Creative Haven book is usually 31 images printed once, for a similar pricepoint.)Now, my review.The Good:-illustrations are lovely. There is a nice variety of interior design scenes, cleanly-drawn in medium thick black lines. Most illustrations make heavy use of patterns to add visual interest and break up large spaces.-images are printed single-sided, and the reverse sides are blacked out. I like this feature; you should be able to use markers without having an ugly blotchy underside to your pictures.-book includes a free pdf download option (instructions are on the last page), so you can print the images on your own personal computer (or send them to the office supply store).The Bad:-unfortunately, this book is printed on really really terrible paper. It is thinner than Creative Haven, and very scratchy. The paper is probably fine for markers, but is very unpleasant to color with colored pencils. (The book appears to be published on Amazons CreateSpace platform. I have two CreateSpace books, and I think this terrible paper might be common to all of the Amazon-published books.)In conclusions: 25x2 great illustrations, awful paper.

I immediately fell in love with this coloring book as soon as I got it. Yes, some of the pages repeat, but I actually like having the option to try out different color options with the same page. Unfortunately, I have to give this book a solid 3 stars due to the newspaper quality flimsy pages that make it impossible to color using a marker without having the black backing of each page bleed through. Yuck!

Just received my coloring book today and couldn't wait to get started on it. As I was reviewing the pictures however I noticed that this book of 50 pages has duplicate, even triplicates of the same pictures. I was a bit disappointed that they were not all different but it's still fun for $7. The pictures are very detailed and I guess you can color the duplicates differently and challenge your creativity!

Fairly nice pictures to color but every one has at least one duplicate, if not three of the same. What a rip-off!

About the Author

Peter Tveskov was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, and lived there until three days after his fourteenth birthday in 1948, when he and his mother moved to Venezuela where he completed his secondary education. After returning to the States, he studied Mechanical Engineering at Yale University and earned the degree of Bachelor of Engineering in 1956. Following ten years working in the oil fields of West Texas, Venezuela, and Brazil, he became the physical plant manager first at Yale University and later at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut. Later in his career, he served as a consultant in facilities operations that took him to assignments at Brown University, Connecticut College, and elsewhere. He retired in 1997 and currently lives in Connecticut.

I purchased this book because I am going to Danmark in the Fall and also with all the horrors of WWII, the Danish Resistance seemed to provide a positive story. Saving 95% of their jewish population, the strong Danish resistance did something that other nations were unable to achieve (for various reasons). The book is realistic in that not all Danes were resistance to the German occupation, but, by in large the majority of Danes resented the Nazi's and created tactics to derail their occupation. What I liked most about this book was of its simplicity in explaining a country's occupation during WWII. It gave me the impression that for the most part in Danmark during WWII, you were a Dane first and whatever else you were (Jewish, etc) was secondary. Ultimately, regardless of differences, you were a Dane and deserving of help. King Christian X stayed during the occupation, rode his horse through the streets of Copehagen, without any bodyguards and 'cooperated' with the Nazi, but only up to a certain point. Somehow the Dane's saved their Jewish population to Sweden and King Christian and the Queen survived-- bright spots in an otherwise horrible moment in history.

Perspective of a man thinking back on his boyhood in occupied Copenhagen. This book has some insightful observations on the life lived in that time, and fills in some background on the overall broad picture of the culture of the Danes relating to their occupation.

Tveslov's "Conquered, Not Defeated" is a touching look at Denmark during WWII through the eyes of a boy but also with the perception through which the events in that country can be viewed with adult eyes years after the fact. With skill, he takes the reader into the fascinating world of Copenhagen during the war - the occupation and, more importantly, the incredible people who lived and died during that dark period of their history. Theirs is a story worth the telling - and worth the remembering. These true recollections of a middle class boy and his family make the reader realize the profound impact of a war that tore Denmark apart and then united her in ways that no one could foresee. "Conquered, Not Defeated" is a testament to the resiliency, the independence and compassion of the Danish spirit, deftly told . . . a story the reader will not soon forget.

A surprising book about growing up in German controlled Denmark during WW II. Who would have thought that the bases were joint-operated through the 1st half of the occupation, and that king Christian ruled through the entire war? Also it shows that Denmark also sent volunteers to the German army, to fight communism.

Perhaps the best of kind about what the Danes had to go through during the war. Highly recommended. The author's knowledge and integrity permeate the pages.

Coming from a danish family i can tell you that this seemingly simple read really gives a good feel of the times through a childs eye. Mr. Tvestov gives just enough extra information to be able to understand the times in which he grew up in addition to his personal experience.It's also an entertaining, if slightly repetitive read.

Bought this as a birthday gift! Arrived quickly! I think she will love it and thank you again, this is wonderful.

I first read "Dove" when it first arrived in our local library. I was thirteen years old and entranced by what I'd read. This unique "coming of age" non-fiction account, inspired me along with hordes of others to pursue the kind of adventure that Robin Lee Graham wrote of in "Dove". For both blue water sailors and those dreaming of such experiences, this story and the movie that followed is to sailing, what "A River Runs Through It" and its movie was to fly fishing.I have no doubt that global blue water cruising had increased in popularity as a result of Graham's voyage and his subsequent book that reads like a classic coming of age novel. After all these years, and having read nearly all the other books written by globe trotting sailors, a spark of nostalgia for those days in the early '70s inspired me to read it again. I'm really glad I did, because this one stands out among all the others. Not because it was one of the first of its kind, but because Graham made it personal. His account was of a boy coming of age during an extraordinary adventure in both idyllic and life threatening situations - all before the age of GPS and real time communications.If you're a fan of coming of age literature or have an itch for armchair travel, this story will do more for you than satisfy the itch. It will inspire you to get out there and test yourself and perhaps discover true happiness.

Having sailed in high school, now that I'm approaching retirement the thought of an adventure sailing is only further sparked by recent charter of a sailboat around the BVI.This book fanned the flame.I enjoyed it from the perspective of a young person who, initially discarded God, but found Him in the people, the islands, the wildlife and even in a lonely sea. Yes, the haters say it's sappy, but they are likely jealous of the love and attachment he found in Patti and Robins deeper connection to God.They just didn't talk the talk, but walked it and came back to embrace a lifestyle that embodies all they learned. That life is bigger than the things we collect, that the land and the sea are to be cared for and appreciated as the gifts they are. Good on them!

Look at the cover. It says it all. Before satnav or GPS or chartplotters this kid sailed around the world with a freakin' compass! There were no marinas. There were anchorages, maybe, if you were lucky. This was just a kid on a boat 1000 miles from nowhere and finding his way somewhere. Sorry, this isn't made up "reality" like you see on TV. This is as real as it gets.

Reading this book let’s you know it can be done in 6 years. But remember this kid had a lot of support, had sailed to Hawaii twice before en famille, and spoiler-alert: lived in Hawaii during most of his day- and weeklong- trips out to ~ yes, still intrepid ~ polynesian islands. It still has incredibly valuable information to the sailor and circumnavigator. Thank you Robin Graham. Salut !

Got it for my dad. He loved it. I can tell he also has the soul of a man who wishes he could sail away from everyone he knows and live on a small boat for five years or more in solitude. He felt a deep admiration for the author and wrote me a letter about how moving the book was for him.

I first read this book when I was around 15, but one of the earlier editions with colour pictures, I think perhaps the periodicals from the National Geographic made into a book? It was beautifully written and has the kind of potential to be life impacting. Like someone else said. Better to read after college then before.Anyway this version is quite different and talks a lot about his g/f and then wife, Patti. In fact almost as much or more then the voyage.I think I preferred the first version and would recommend that over this for a first time reader, but this was interesting as well. Almost another book.Looking foward to reading the sequal about their life in Montana afterwards - Home Is The Sailor.

Excellent story not over cluttered with going of age nonsense. Told the story in an interesting straightforward manner. Good balance of sailing and land experience. Would have enjoyed some illustrations / maps inline of locations visited but google maps backfilled side by side. Great read if you are interested in sailing.

I could not put this book down. I met a guy at a pub, and as we played pool, he told me about his life aboard his sail boat and how he acquired his Mount Gay Rum regatta cap. Somehow the subject of this book came up and he recommended it. It is a must read for sailors, ocean lovers, adventurers, and romantics. The author is so honest and his stories are inspirational. I love how he met his wife and the way they tackled life together. This book is a must-read!

The books are fantastic, but it was the vendor that impressed me. Mailing labels obviously got switched and a got someone's Greek Art book who lived in South Dakota. I contacted the vendor and he bent over backwards to make it right. I was absolutely impressed. Mistakes happen from time-to-time. and sometimes you simply get ignored. Not this guy. He made it right, e.g. I got the books I ordered, he gave me a credit for shipping the wrong book I received to South Dakota, and he communicated frequently to make sure the issue got resolved.

The original book is great reading for the style with which Stephens writes, for the view of the life at those times in Mexico, for the view of the life of the Indians, and for the sheer adventure of moving through the jungle, fighting malaria, to track down ancient ruins in the 1800s at a time when what is now the "Mayan Riviera" was only myth and rumor. The drawings by Catherwood are fascinating, and the whole adventure is more amazing for being a true story.This edition has been significantly edited by Ackerman, I think lessening the power of the original, which at the moment is not sold by Amazon, but this edition combines the two books into one. 5 stars for the Stephens/Catherwood book, 3 for this version of it.

Unlike the Kindle version of Stephens's prior book, "Incidents of Travel, Central America, Chiapas, Yucatan," this later volume includes the sketches by Catherwood, which add immeasurably to enjoyment of the story. The text is nearly flawless, with only the occasional scanning error.Stephens's prose, as before, is immensely enjoyable: highly literate, carefully descriptive, laced with compassion and gentle irony: "Just as we were leaving the ruins a messenger came to inform us that one of our pistols had shot an Indian. These pistols had never shown any particular antipathy to Indians, and had never shot one before..."Written in the last days before photography brought the world face-to-face with itself, the blend of Stephens's prose and Catherwood's illustrations carry us back to the Age of Exploration in rich, immediate power.Kindle note: there is a Table of Contents with linked chapters, but the TOC button is grayed out on the "Go To" menu.

I've read it before and live in Yucatam....nice to have a Kindle copy to carry around. 170 years old and still a great read!

The two volume Dover edition is much much better. This is watered down, and doesn't contain the important details that make it so interesting. It has very few of the illustrations found in the two volume set. This was a big let down. I bought this thinking it was similar to the Dover addition which a friend of mine owned.
